When you first start up your career in your senior year of college.  Usually the most you can hope for is just an internship.  But when this opportunity came from the SCA I was more than thrilled.  Just only in 2011 had the Paterson Great Falls National Historical Park been commissioned.  I was going to start at this park and be a huge part of building it from the ground up.

I am a student of history and public relations from William Paterson University in Wayne, New Jersey.  My career goal is to be involved in tourism on some level.  I could not do it with a history degree alone, so I decided to minor in public relations.  My intern title at the Paterson Great Falls National Historical Park is Oral Historian.  It’s my job to contact and interview the people that have lived the industrial history of Paterson, New Jersey.  What better way to hone my skills as both a historian and communications professional than to interview the people that have lived in arguably the most important city in the United States!  I will write about my experiences with the National Park and work every day to make Paterson Great Falls National Historical Park a tourist destination and tell its historical significance.
